Onboarding a New Hire
Start the hire in Toku with the proposed role, location, compensation and start date. The worker provides their personal information, identity and work authorization documents, payment details and signed agreement. Toku will confirm the documents and timing needed for the individual before the start date.
Employer Costs
Budget for gross salary, employer social contributions, any statutory holiday payments and agreed benefits. Rates and contribution limits change and depend on the employee's circumstances. Ask Toku for a current, itemized estimate before agreeing compensation.
Compensation & Payroll
Pay is in euros. Agree the gross salary and any bonus or allowances before issuing the agreement. For eligible private-sector employees, statutory seasonal payments include a Christmas payment, Easter payment and annual leave allowance. For a full qualifying period, these are generally one monthly salary at Christmas and half a monthly salary each at Easter and for annual leave. Toku will confirm eligibility, any prorating, payment timing and the payroll schedule for the agreement. Ask for the applicable payroll deadline before submitting changes.
Employment Contracts & Probation
The agreement records the role, pay, work schedule and other terms. Confirm any probation, fixed-term conditions and applicable collective agreement with Toku before the employee starts. Work authorization may be needed for a hire from overseas.
Working Hours
A full-time contractual week is generally 40 hours. The rules distinguish ordinary working time, additional hours and overtime, with different conditions and pay. Agree the schedule and record hours as required. Toku will confirm the applicable limits, rest breaks and compensation for the employee's arrangement.
Leave Entitlements
Paid annual leave accrues from the start of employment. The statutory baseline and accrual depend on whether the employee works five or six days per week and on service. Sick, maternity, parental and other protected leave have separate eligibility and pay rules. Toku will confirm entitlement, documentation and who pays for the individual case.
Public Holidays
National and religious observances include New Year’s Day, March 25, May 1, August 15, October 28 and Christmas. Orthodox Easter and other movable holidays change dates each year. Holiday rights can depend on the region, occupation and schedule. Toku will confirm the applicable holidays and pay treatment.
Benefits
Statutory social insurance and any agreed supplemental benefits form part of the employment package. Coverage, eligibility and cost depend on the employee and plan. Ask Toku for the current benefit options and enrollment steps before making a commitment.
Ending Employment
Do not assume a standard notice period or severance amount. The reason for termination, contract, service and procedure can change the requirements. Contact Toku before communicating a proposed end date so the team can review notice, documentation, final pay and unused leave.
Hiring Someone from Overseas?
Confirm the person's right to work before setting a start date. Immigration requirements depend on nationality and residence status. Toku will confirm the documents and process for the proposed hire.
