📘 For human resources administrators on Toku. Last updated July 23, 2026.
If you have employees in California employed through Toku's Employer of Record (EOR) services, you do not need to register with CalSavers - Toku sponsors a qualified 401(k) plan that meets the exemption requirement.
Before you start
- CalSavers is California's state-sponsored retirement program. Employers with California employees must either register or claim an exemption.
- Employers with 1 - 4 employees had a deadline of December 31, 2025. Employers with 5+ employees should already be in compliance.
Why Toku EOR employees are CalSavers-exempt
Toku sponsors the Slavic401k retirement plan for all U.S. EOR employees. Because this is a qualified employer-sponsored retirement plan, it satisfies the CalSavers exemption under California law.
As an EOR client, your Toku employees are automatically covered. You don't take separate action with CalSavers - Toku handles all compliance and administration.

What this means for your organization
Toku handles compliance: No CalSavers registration needed for your Toku EOR employees. Toku manages all 401(k) administration - enrollment, contributions, and reporting.
Your direct-hire employees: If you have California employees on your own payroll (not through Toku EOR), you must still comply with CalSavers for those individuals. Compliance is assessed per employer.
How employees access and manage their 401(k)
Toku EOR employees can view and manage their retirement savings through the Slavic401k portal at www.slavic401k.com.
Employees can enroll or opt out, change contribution rates, select investments, and view statements. Slavic401k support is available Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST at (800) 356-3009.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to file an exemption with CalSavers for my Toku employees? No. Because Toku is the employer of record, Toku maintains the exemption status. You don't need to take any action.
What if I receive a CalSavers notice about Toku employees? CalSavers notices are based on employment data. If you receive a notice about employees under Toku's EOR arrangement, contact your Toku Customer Success team - we can clarify the exemption status.
Are there fees for the 401(k) plan? Toku covers the employer portion of plan administration. Employees may have minimal fund-level expense ratios, disclosed in plan documents.
