Toku employs you in Estonia as your legal employer while your organization directs your day-to-day work.

๐Ÿ‘‹ Welcome to Toku. Toku is your Employer of Record (EOR) in Estonia. We employ you through the appropriate local Toku entity and manage the compliance, HR, payroll, and benefits administration connected to your employment. Your day-to-day work, goals, and role direction continue to come from the organization you support.

๐Ÿ“„ Your signed employment agreement governs your individual terms, including pay, working hours, probation, notice, and any custom arrangements. Mandatory local law also applies. If this guide and your agreement appear different, contact Toku before relying on the summary.

Pay schedule and payroll changes

You are normally paid monthly, on the last business day of the month. The standard monthly cutoff for payroll changes is generally the 10th, but the exact cutoff can vary by country and organization. Check the Toku: 2026 and 2027 Payroll Calendar and Deadlines or contact Toku before relying on a specific date.

You will receive a payslip for each payroll cycle showing your gross pay, required deductions, and net pay. Keep your bank, tax, and personal information current in Toku, and notify us promptly if anything changes.

Your employment terms and probation

  • Toku issues a compliant local employment agreement for every hire, with all terms required by Estonian law.
  • Indefinite-term contracts are the default. Fixed-term contracts are allowed where the nature of the work justifies them, but repeated renewals beyond five years can convert them to indefinite-term.
  • Probation is 4 months under Toku's employment agreement (the statutory maximum). During probation, either party can end the contract with 15 calendar days' notice.

Working hours and overtime

Your normal working hours are stated in your signed employment agreement and may vary by role, schedule, or applicable collective agreement. Toku does not expect routine overtime. Do not work overtime or additional hours unless your manager has approved them in advance. Any overtime or additional-hours treatment follows your signed agreement and mandatory local law.

Statutory : state health insurance and state pension are funded through the 33% social tax, alongside unemployment insurance. Every employee is covered by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund, which provides access to the public healthcare system.

Additional Toku benefits

In Estonia, Toku's standard supplemental benefit is Remote Health by SafetyWing. Review ๐ŸŒ Global Coverage: Remote Health by SafetyWing for current availability, coverage, eligibility, enrollment, and support information.

Stablecoin payroll and token grants

Where permitted by local law and enabled for your organization, Toku can support token grant administration and allow you to elect to receive a portion of your net pay in stablecoins. Availability depends on your country, your organization's program, and your individual compensation arrangements. These options are not guaranteed components of every employment package.

If stablecoin payroll is available to you, see Toku: Stablecoin Payroll Set Up. For token grant questions, use the Toku: Contact our Team for Support! to reach the Token Grant Administration team.

Annual tax documents

You can view reported income and generate a taxation-data certificate directly in e-MTA. If you need the employer's TSM certificate of payments, deductions and taxes, request it from payroll@toku.com. The statutory form is provided on request by 1 February following the calendar year, or when employment ends. Request it ahead of that date; Toku will arrange it and upload the employer-issued copy to Documents within the applicable statutory timeline. An e-MTA certificate is a separate government document, not an automatic Toku upload. Sources: EMTA TSM form and instructions, e-MTA certificates.

Leaving Toku: resigning

Giving notice

Send a formal resignation letter to Toku, your legal employer, by uploading it to your Toku Documents or emailing customer-success@toku.com. Notify your manager too, and follow your signed employment agreement's notice period and any local signature or delivery requirements. Toku will help confirm the employment end date and any additional formalities.

Documents and final payroll

You will receive formal offboarding/termination documentation through DocuSign, with a copy uploaded to Documents. It will explain the applicable departure terms and final-pay arrangements. Review it and contact Toku if anything is unclear. Toku does not send a separate personalized general offboarding email; watch for DocuSign and any required documents delivered separately by Toku or the local provider.

Country documents: You can request the employer's TSM certificate of payments, deductions and taxes when you leave. The local payroll provider coordinates the employment-register update. Your government employment and tax records can also be checked in e-MTA. See the official TSM instructions.

Benefits when you leave

Benefits are managed by external carriers and providers. You may receive an email from each provider and/or see your coverage status updated in its portal or app. Confirm your exact coverage end date, dependent coverage, any continuation options, and relevant deadlines directly with the provider. Do not assume that coverage ends on your final working day or continues automatically.

For Remote Health coverage, check SafetyWing's communications or your member account. Review ๐ŸŒ Global Coverage: Remote Health by SafetyWing for your plan and contacts. Toku coordinates the employer-side offboarding; contact us if you need help resolving a missing or unclear provider update.

Your Toku account

You will retain access to your Toku account and employment documents after leaving. For help updating your email, resetting your password, or changing 2FA, email customer-success@toku.com.

How to get help

Toku is your employer and your first point of contact for employment support. For payroll, payslips, statutory deductions, or payroll tax documents, email payroll@toku.com. For benefits support, email benefits@toku.com. For leave, employment documents, immigration, or other employment matters, use Toku: Contact our Team for Support! to reach the right team.

Important

This guide is a general summary and does not replace your signed employment agreement, Toku policies, benefit plan documents, or applicable law. Your exact entitlements may vary based on your work location, tenure, role, collective agreement, or individual terms. Where there is a conflict, the applicable law and binding employment documents control.
